This Privacy Policy applies to FTMS Datafields by Absolute Bollocks Creations (abscreations.netlify.app). The app is a Garmin Connect IQ application and syncs data only with Garmin Connect. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how data is accessed and used.

Scope

This policy covers the FTMS Datafields Connect IQ app and this website page hosting the policy. It does not cover Garmin’s own services. Your use of Garmin devices, Garmin Connect, and the Connect IQ Store is governed by Garmin’s terms and privacy policies.

Information the App Accesses

• Exercise Metrics (on-device): heart rate, calories, duration, speed, power, elevation, distance, cadence, and related workout fields necessary to generate activity files for Garmin Connect.
• Birth Month and Year (optional): used only to derive age-based metrics if you provide it via device settings. Not retained by us.
• No Location Data: FTMS Datafields does not collect or transmit GPS or precise location data itself. If your Garmin device records GPS as part of an activity, that GPS data is handled by Garmin.

How Data Is Used

• Metrics are processed on your Garmin device to assemble workout information.
• The app creates or contributes to a Garmin-compatible activity (e.g., FIT) that is synced only with Garmin Connect through your Garmin device and Garmin’s official sync path.
• No data is sent to our servers. We do not operate any backend that receives your activity data.

Garmin Connect Integration (Only)

FTMS Datafields syncs activity data strictly with Garmin Connect via your Garmin device and Garmin’s official pipelines (e.g., Garmin Connect Mobile or Garmin Express). Your data is then stored and managed within your Garmin account under Garmin’s policies. You control sharing from Garmin Connect to any other platforms. We do not facilitate or operate any additional third-party sync.

Third-Party Services

FTMS Datafields does not connect to Google Health Connect, Strava, or other third-party services. Any further sharing of your activity data (e.g., from Garmin Connect to other platforms) is managed by you within Garmin Connect and is governed by those services’ own terms and privacy policies.

Website Analytics

Our website (abscreations.netlify.app) may use:

• Cloudflare Web Analytics (beacon-based) to understand page views and country of origin.
• Netlify download tracker for anonymous click counts on outbound/download links.

These website analytics are separate from the app and do not receive your workout data. No cookies or personal identifiers are set by these trackers on our site.

User Controls

• You choose whether to install/enable the app on your Garmin device.
• You can remove the app at any time from your device via Connect IQ/Device settings.
• You control your data within Garmin Connect (view, export, delete, or share to other platforms).

Data Storage and Retention

FTMS Datafields performs processing on-device. We do not store your activity data on our servers. Activity data is stored in your Garmin account within Garmin Connect, subject to Garmin’s retention policies and your account settings. Any temporary data on the device exists only as needed to create/sync the activity and is managed by your device/Garmin software.

Data Sharing

• Garmin: Activity data is shared exclusively with Garmin Connect via your device’s normal sync.
• We do not sell or share your personal information for advertising or marketing.
• We do not disclose data to third parties other than Garmin, unless required by law.

Security

• Data is handled by your Garmin device and synced to Garmin Connect through Garmin’s secure channels.
• We do not maintain servers holding your activity data.

International Data Transfers

Garmin may process your data in locations it determines (see Garmin’s privacy policy). FTMS Datafields does not itself transfer your data internationally; all processing and storage occur within Garmin’s ecosystem after sync.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., GDPR, UK GDPR, U.S. state privacy laws), you may have rights to:

• Access and receive a copy of your data
• Request correction or deletion
• Withdraw consent (e.g., uninstall the app; manage data in Garmin Connect)
• Object to processing where permitted by law

Children’s Privacy

FTMS Datafields does not set a minimum age requirement, but we recommend parental supervision for younger users due to the health-related nature of the app. Garmin’s child account features and policies may also apply.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on our website at abscreations.netlify.app/privacy. We do not send direct notifications, as we do not collect user contact details.
