Pro Mode Menu Options
Pro Mode enables extra options within the basic FTMS All Sync menu. It also unlocks the following:
- A second page of metrics (Use Next and Previous buttons during the workout to change pages.)
- Heart rate zone alerts (Vibe when Heart rate zone changes)
- Time-based alarms (Vibe every x Seconds/Minutes)
- Distance-based laps (Auto lap on set distance)
- Distance-based alarms (Vibe on set distance)
- Dynamic workout profiles that can adjust your trainer automatically during a session.
This page explains in detail how to configure and use Dynamic Profiles in FTMS All Sync – Dynamic Profiles Feature.
Available Pro Mode Menu Options
Edit Page 2 Fields
What it does: Enables a second page of six fully configurable data fields during your activity.
How to use it: In Pro Mode, open the menu and choose Edit Page 2 Fields. Each of the six fields can be assigned any metric supported by the current activity type (bike, rower, elliptical, etc.).
During the workout, press Next/Previous (or swipe up/down on touch devices) to switch between Page 1 and Page 2. Settings for both pages are stored per activity type, so you can have different layouts for bike vs rower, and so on.
Note: The second page of metrics is available in the Lite version, but it must be configured from Connect IQ or Garmin Express.
HR Zone Alarms
What it does: Vibrates your device whenever your heart rate zone changes (moving up or down between zones).
How to use it: Toggle HR Zone Alarms ON in the Pro Mode menu. The zones used are based on the heart rate settings configured in the app / Garmin environment.
Tip: Ideal for zone-based training where you want to stay in a target zone without constantly watching the screen.
Alarms
What it does: Enables a vibration reminder at a fixed time interval during your workout (for example, every 5 minutes).
How to use it: Turn Alarms ON in the Pro Mode menu. When this option is enabled, an additional Time Interval menu item becomes available so you can choose how often to be notified.
Note: The Time Interval option is hidden when Alarms are disabled. After enabling Alarms, exit the menu once and reopen it to configure the interval.
Tip: Great for regular hydration/nutrition reminders or simple time-based intervals.
Time Interval
What it does: Defines how often the vibration alarm triggers when Alarms are enabled.
How to use it: With Alarms turned ON, select Time Interval from the menu. A number picker opens where you choose the delay between alerts in Hours : Minutes : Seconds.
Example: Set 00:05:00 for a reminder every 5 minutes.
Automatic Laps
What it does: Creates automatic laps based on distance and triggers a vibration each time a new lap is recorded.
How to use it: Turn Automatic Laps ON in the Pro Mode menu. When enabled, a Lap Distance option appears so you can choose how far you want each lap to be.
Note: The Lap Distance option is hidden when Automatic Laps is disabled. After enabling Automatic Laps, exit and reopen the menu to configure the distance.
Tip: Useful for structured workouts (e.g., 1 km repeats, 500 m row intervals) and for keeping a consistent sense of progress.
Lap Distance
What it does: Sets the distance between automatic laps when Automatic Laps is enabled.
How to use it: With Automatic Laps ON, choose Lap Distance from the menu. A number picker opens where you specify the desired lap distance.
Units: For most activities, the lap distance is shown in either miles or kilometers, depending on the default units on your Garmin device. For rowing, there is an additional Use Meters setting described below.
Use Meters (Row Indoors)
What it does: Allows you to treat Lap Distance for rowing in meters instead of miles or kilometers, which better matches typical rowing workouts (e.g., 500 m, 1000 m).
Note:By default distance is displayed using the system user preference for units (Imperial or Metric). This option overrides this behavior for Rowing and forces Metric regardless of the system preference.
How to use it: When the Activity is set to Row Indoors, a Use Meters toggle appears in the Pro Mode menu.
- When Use Meters is ON, the Lap Distance picker uses kilometers as input (for example, 0.50 km).
- The app then displays the configured distance in meters (e.g., 500 m) in the menu and when laps trigger.
Example: To set 500 m laps, enable Use Meters, choose Lap Distance, and set the picker to 0.50 km. The menu will then show the lap distance as 500 m.
Set Dynamic Mode
What it does: Assigns one of the 8 dynamic workout profile programs to the current activity type. Dynamic profiles can automatically adjust your trainer’s Speed, Inclination, and Resistance during the workout, creating custom interval or hill sessions. On Bikes that support Erg mode you can choose to set Power instead of Resistance. Erg mode dynamically adjusts the resistance level based on the current speed and cadence to maintain a steady power output.
How to use it: Open Set Dynamic Mode in the Pro Mode menu. You can:
- Choose Manual to keep full control of the trainer yourself, or
- Select one of up to 8 configurable dynamic profiles that you have set up in settings.
Each activity type (bike, rower, treadmill, etc.) can use a different profile, or Manual. Once a profile is assigned, FTMS All Sync will adjust the trainer according to that profile’s steps while the activity is running.
